This manual replaces and obsoletes IBM 3745 Communication Controller: Cable Identification, GA33-0127-0.
This manual also reflects new enhancements to the IBM 3745 Communication Controller capacities. These enhancements Include two new types of line Interface couplers (LIC):
• The LIC type 5, which can attach one or two telecommunication lines via, respectively, two synchronous Integrated modems.
• The LIC type 6, which can attach one line over the digital data service network, via an integrated data service unit/channel service unit.
This manual is intended for the user personnel who will Install the IBM 3745 Communication Controller.
It is divided into two parts and three appendixes:
Part 1: How to Identify the Cables
Part 1 enables you to prepare the 3745 cable installation plan.
Part 2: How to Complete the Configuration Sheets
Part 2 gives procedures for completing the configuration sheets that are provided
in Appendix C.
Appendix A: Plugging Sheets
This appendix provides a set of blank plugging sheets.
Appendix B: Cable Labels
This appendix provides a place for you to store unused labels.
Appendix C: Configuration Sheets
This appendix provides a set of blank configuration sheets.
